Technolgy Training Discussion

Discussion:  Who are your learners? What do they need to know? How do they need to learn it?
Reflection: Even though my learners, the students that I teach, are on an elementary level, many of them are technologically savvy. They live in this society that explodes with digital devices that render them speechless..really. They tend to tune out everything that is around them unless it pertains to the task at hand, the actual device that is in their hand! They need to learn so much, but how to get it to them is the key! To transmit information to the students has become an important focus in this present educational age. To capture their attention might not be a problem, but to keep their attention can be! I think that learning needs to be more interactive, rather than just textbook or boardwork assignments.

Discussion:  How can these connection tools be used as an optional tool for communicating with parents and/or students? (blogs, pod/video casts, rss feeds)
Reflection: I'm not too sure, at this time, how these connection tools can be used to communicate with parents, mainly because I'm still learning how to use them myself. I can say that any new positive, efficient, or effective means of communication can always be a help. I will definitely explore the possibilities.

Discussion:  Identify some specific ways in which this activity can apply to various teaching situations. (Vokis) Reflection: I can see how a Voki can be used as a profile picture for a blog as a means to capture the attention of the audience. I can also see how students can show their creativity when creating their own Voki.
